





The funds made available from the Angkor Project have helped to improve our sister school’s infrastructure, attendance, enrolment and curriculum implementation, improved achievement levels, equipment and materials. Students and staff now have:
- Access to toilets, this assists girls to attend school on a regular basis.
- Access to clean drinking water.
- Renovated classrooms that have created a positive learning environment. Giving parents confidence in the Angkor Project Schools
- Access to play equipment, basketball courts and football fields.
- Greater access to teaching, curriculum and learning materials.
- More classrooms are connected to electricity.
Major milestones have been achieved through Angkor Project funding:
- 100% of Angkor Project Schools have toilets but some principals have indicated that more toilets are needed, or the existing toilets need renovating.
- 100% of Angkor Project Schools have water tanks and/or pumps and associated plumbing for drinking water and water for cleanliness and hygiene. Some schools still need to purchase water during the extended dry season.
- 100% of Angkor Project Schools are connected to the electricity grid and an increasing number of classrooms have more power points, lights and cooling fans.
- Attendance of female students has improved dramatically with some school’s female attendance as high as 98%. Attendance in general has improved with most Angkor Project schools having above a 95% attendance rate for females and males.
- Enrolments have increased in numerous Angkor Project Schools due to the facilities provided by the funding. One school had an increase of 70 students in the 2023 year directly related to amenities purchased with Angkor Project funds.
- Data from Kampong Speu Regional Office shows that the academic achievement was generally higher in the Angkor Project Schools that in the other 300 schools in the region. This is a major achievement considering most Angkor Project schools were classified as disadvantaged.
